Manchester Active Youth Theatre brings a unique, modern interpretation of William Shakespeare’s final play to The Edge Theatre in Chorlton.

Kicking off a four-show run on Thu 24 Mar, The Tempest is a story of revenge, power and magic—though this will be no ordinary Shakespeare production, as the supremely talented local theatre group reimagine the tale through spectacular music and movement.

The performance follows the story of Prospero, a powerful sorcerer who lives isolated on a desert island with his daughter Miranda, after being exiled from Milan by his power-hungry brother, Antonio, and the King of Naples, Alonso.

However, when their boat dares to sail by the island Prospero now resides on, the sorcerer calls upon his powers to conjur a magical storm and enact his revenge on those who did him wrong.

Performances will be taking place Thu 24 Mar (7.30pm), Fri 25 Mar (7.30pm), and twice on Sat 26 Mar (2pm & 7.30pm). Grab your tickets using the button below.
