Red Ladder, a theatre company famous for their provocative, relevant and radical theatre, return to The Lowry this week with a play that strikes right to the heart of current social concerns. Never one to shy away from the big issues, the company’s current touring piece questions the possibility of empathy in a capitalist society. Ben Tagoe’s The Thing About Psychopaths draws stark parallels between the corporate world and the prison system, illuminating the troubling notion that, in certain circles, empathy appears to be a sign of weakness in the modern day. This rather timely piece of agitprop takes the Studio’s stage this Thursday and Friday for two nights only.
