Feeling a little spoilt for choice between the numerous food, art and vintage events taking place across the city this weekend? Salford’s newest public space, Greengate Square, is offering all three in one as it hosts its second monthly Urban Market. Formerly a bus station and car park, the newly redeveloped space is conveniently located between Salford and Manchester city centre, making it the ideal location for this new monthly event. Featuring over 30 artisan stalls, the market will be bursting with fine food, arts, crafts and vintage pieces, as traders including The Bread Fairy, Vanillis Cafe, Northern Letters, Mama Ks, Honest Crust Pizza, Pig & Co. and Offbeat Brewery come together to transform the square into a hub for all things gourmet and creative. With additional cookery demonstrations and live entertainment from a line-up of local musicians selected by Salford Music Festival director Ed Blaney, it’s already been dubbed as Salford’s answer to Borough Market. We’d recommend heading over and discovering it now before everyone else does.
