The Vegetarian Society has officially opened the doors to its brand-new city centre location.

Located in a former Ancoats electricity sub-station, COOK! with the Vegetarian Society will offer a vibrant array of workshops, supper clubs and other flavour-filled experiences, all delivered from their bespoke new teaching kitchen.

Perfect for foodies, and a great hands-on alternative to your typical meal out, are the team’s evening Supper and Curry Clubs. Under the guidance of expert tutors, these sessions will teach guests useful new cooking skills, with participants making a delicious meal before sitting down together and savouring it.

A range of half or full-day classes and workshops will also be run from the new venue, including Oodles of Noodles, Kick Start Korean, Dim Sum, Vegan Street Food, Plant Powered Protein, Taco Time and more.

For those who want to gain a more in-depth knowledge of vegetarian and vegan cookery, there is a five-day Vegetarian Society Certificate in Vegetarian & Vegan Cookery, the first of its kind offered in the UK.

Sam Linford- Platt, Head of COOK!, commented: “It’s been great having people in our brand new kitchens cooking amazing dishes. People have loved our recent ‘Lions Mane Mushroom’ workshop and devoured the ‘Build a Bahn Mi’ class. It’s a really relaxed place to cook and experiment with food, whilst gaining confidence in the kitchen.

“Our venue is a focal point for plant-based and vegetarian cooking and we have something for everyone, from our short social supper clubs through to full training weeks and community classes.”

To celebrate the launch of the new venue, the Vegetarian Society is offering the chance to win a Supper Club for you and a friend. More details on that can be found here.
