Sound Control has been a part of the city’s music scene for years, but only three of them have been spent as a music venue for some of the UK’s most exciting bands, new and old. Before then it was a music store responsible for bringing Reni into The Stone Roses (via an ad on its noticeboard) and selling many young Mancunians their first instruments – including Bruce Carter from The Whip. It’s kind of fitting then that he and his band will be helping Sound Control celebrate its third birthday in style. Support comes from special guests Propellers and Catfish & The Bottlemen as well as music from the Sunshine Underground DJs. All for just a fiver. Remember this Whip classic Trash, and the timeless electro monster Sister Siam.
