Cultural worlds collide later this month at The White Hotel, as the iconic club space welcomes esteemed musicians from the Hallé.

On Fri 28 Feb, Ballet Music will see the former Salford car garage will play host to a 10-piece chamber ensemble, inviting audiences to ‘Dance music of the fin de siecle’ — more commonly recognised as the end of the 19th-century.

The supremely talented collective will be performing famous pieces from the era, including several Strauss waltzes like Roses from the South and Wine, Women and Song, as well as Claude Debussy’s Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun.

The unique event’s description reads: “In 1644 the Puritans prohibited the Maypole. In Footloose, Rev. Moore bans the kids from dancing. In 2017 Sankey’s was closed by Property Development. Support your local dance band now!”
