A one-man re-telling of Milton’s epic poem Paradise Lost through words, music and ‘the easily misunderstood medium of dance’ comes to The Lowry this month. Ben Duke, artistic director of the Lost Dog theatre and dance company, plays all the characters in the performance, which was nominated for a South Bank Sky Arts Award for Dance. The production premiered at Battersea Arts Centre in May 2015, receiving critical acclaim from the Guardian and Evening Standard, and ran throughout August at the Edinburgh Fringe. Duke, who established Lost Dog in 2004, has performed with Hofesh Shechter Company, Glyndebourne Opera and Punchdrunk – and earlier this year scooped the National Dance Critics Award for Outstanding Male Performance for this show.
