HOME welcomes a new staging of two of Shakespeare’s best-loved tragedies in one production this September. Co-produced with Lyric Hammersmith, othellomacbeth is a condensed, two-hour-long performance of Othello and Macbeth, told by an ensemble company of nine actors who play roles in both plays. The production – which will have its world premiere in Manchester, before continuing in London – is directed by Jude Christian, who directed Parliament Square at the Royal Exchange last year, as well as co-directing (with Vicky Featherstone) the sell-out production of My Mum’s a Twat at the Royal Court earlier this year. othellomacbeth is designed by Basia Binkowska, who won last year’s Linbury Prize for Stage Design. Preview performances take place on 14, 15, 17 and 18 September, while the 27 September performance will be followed by a post-show discussion with the cast and creative team.
