Award-winning, international touring company Complicité’s new production Drive Your Plow Over the Bones of the Dead has arrived at The Lowry this week.
Conceived and directed by their Artistic Director and Co-Founder Simon McBurney, the show is based on Nobel Prize-Winner Olga Tokarczuk’s genre-defying novel of the same name.
The darkly comic, anarchic noir triggered a seismic reaction in Tokarczuk’s native Poland due to its defiant attack on authoritarian structures, with right-wing press labelling the writer an ‘eco-terrorist’ and national traitor.
Described as a ‘thought-provoking, wry and otherworldly murder mystery’, Drive Your Plow Over the Bones of the Dead covers themes of cosmos, poetry, and the limitations and possibilities of activism.
Drive Your Plow Over the Bones of the Dead runs at The Lowry until Sat 29 Apr, as part of its International tour. Book your tickets using the button below.
