The month of June is your time to get those calf muscles pumping with 300 cycling events taking place in every Greater Manchester area. Created by Manchester Friends of the Earth, Bike Month is a movement to urge people to cycle for more of their journeys. Whether it’s reducing harmful emissions, easing congestion or encouraging better health, the organisation is determined to bring everyone together to invest in a greener and healthier future. The month’s sessions include adult cycle training, social events, cycle maintenance plus more (full calendar here), but here’s our top three picks:

Discovery Ride (East Didsbury)
An hour-long excursion led by experienced ride leaders, this is a great opportunity to get some cycling confidence, explore the local area and meet the locals. Bikes and helmets are available, and booking is required.
