Fuel, the vegetarian café bar in Withington, is hosting a very special new event this Friday. At Slowdancers, every dance will be the last dance – so you can expect slowcore tunes from low-tempo indie-rockers including Bedhead, The Magnetic Fields and Smog. Listen out for hits by George Michael, Prince and Yazoo, adding to the whole 1980s school prom vibe, plus lesser-known classics from the likes of The Velvet Underground, David Bowie and Serge Gainsbourg. The night will also feature a very special live performance by local indie-drone rocker Irma Vep (AKA Edwin Stevens). If all that doesn’t sound old-school enough for you, the first 20 people through the door will receive a free mix tape.
