World Book Day takes place this month – and to celebrate, there will be a charity Book Swap at Soup Kitchen on Sunday 8 March. Visitors should bring with them between 1 and 20 books, which will be exchanged for tokens. These can be used to buy other donated books of their choice. There will also be free activities all afternoon, such as creative writing, and book-making using recycled materials. DJs will be performing, including Elle Mary, James Moss, Katelin Coxedge from All FM, and Karl Astbury of the band Nine Black Alps. The event is organised by the folks behind Waste Not Clothes Swap, who have run similar clothing-themed events at Soup Kitchen. All proceeds will go to The Vision Charity, which helps blind, visually impaired and dyslexic children.
