A charming blend of pop and psyche, six-piece Los Angeles group Dengue Fever bring their delicate and groovy rock vibes to Band on the Wall for their Manchester debut this Thursday. After a six month trip to South East Asia in 1990, keyboardist Ethan Holtzman returned inspired by the sounds of Cambodia and began a musical journey resulting in Dengue Fever. Now, the American rockers are a band not afraid to experiment and create genre-mingling sounds, twisting the boundaries of music and culture. Latest album The Deepest Lake was released earlier in 2015 and contains some of the group’s evolutionary tracks including Tokay and Ghost Voice, both of which are likely to feature at the gig. With future dates already lined up across Europe and the US, Dengue Fever and their delightfully different style of music look set to add to their growing fan base and critical success. One thing’s for sure: if you’re looking for something different, Dengue Fever won’t disappoint.
