Riotous Balkan brass collective The Destroyers have set their co-ordinates to Band on the Wall this month. The Birmingham-based 12-piece rabble count trumpets, trombone and tuba among their rhythmic arsenal, with violin, accordion, bass, guitars, drums, flute and a gong all part of their musical explosion. They’re embarking on a whirlwind tour to celebrate the release of their latest EP, Vortex, and have made sure to include Manchester as one of a handful of dates. Their sounds are borrowed from the circus and you’ll be treated to all manner of clowning around from upbeat, gypsy folk jives to playful rhyming and eardrum thumping crescendos. Make sure you bring your dancing shoes, otherwise your thinner soles will be worn down by the end of a night’s skanking.
