Though spring may seem distant, you can rely on the Makers Market to bring a whole o host of fresh food, drink, arts and crafts to enjoy. As January draws to a close they set up shop in West Didsbury with over independent and artisan 100 traders serving all kinds of delights to keep you in good health until spring has finally sprung. Foodies can explore a mouth-watering array of cheeses, pies and homemade cuisine from around the globe including Russian baked goodies from Cossack Cuisine, South African biltong from Gavin’s Biltong. Prefer something more local? Go for sweet treats from Burton Road’s very own And the Dish Ran Away with the Spoon. If you’ve been struggling to make it through a particularly trying dry January, the Makers have you covered with artisan gins from Rose Cottage and locally crafted ales from The Polo Horse Trailer. Or why not warm your cockles the more traditional way with world-class coffee from Little Espresso. If you’re already fed and watered and looking for something more tangible from your makers then you’re in luck with hand-crafted jewellery by Chro and Honey Bee Design, retro inspired gifts from I Love Upcycle or pick up a photograph or two from Art of Landscape or Ben Sedman. Furthering their community vibe Maker Market have also teamed with local group The Greyhound Gap who rescue and rehabilitate greyhounds before hoping to find a loving home for them and there will be some of our furry friends on site for guests to meet. With music provided by Americana inspired Mancunian singer songwriter Izzie Walsh, it’s a done deal.
