You might know the Trafford area of Davyhulme for its highly visible sewage treatment plant. But this weekend, it will be more notable for its crowds of records collectors, as it plays host to Manchester Record Fair on Sunday. The rather no-nonsense-named event at George H Carnall Leisure Centre will feature 50 stalls of rare and deleted vinyl and CDs from the worlds of rock, pop and dance. There will also be books and various kinds of memorabilia on sale. Visitors will be able to pick up collectable pieces directly from the supplier, all at internet prices. Doubtless this will be the perfect place to pick up a mint-condition first pressing of Kraftwerk’s Trans Europe Express, with the original German sleeve, naturally. The venue is easy to reach, being just off Junction 9 of the M60. Parking is free.
