It’s the middle of summer so it’s time to don the parasol – or umbrella – and head to the Spinningfields Makers Market. Over 100 traders bring bargains, street food and live entertainment to Spinningfields over two days this weekend. Highlights include vintage essentials from Gin and Junk, a lo-fi cigar box guitar from Dirt Pie Guitar, and home some artwork such as Ben Sedman’s photography. There are platefuls of food to tempt you too, from Oh My Glaze to Perfect Samosa to black pudding slices from Cumbrian Pie. This weekend has a special guest: watch young entrepreneurs in action from Manchester Youth Market, with stalls including Old Youth Manchester, Zog Desserts and the vegan street food of Peacock & Juno. Adding beats to your browsing will be DJ Pasta Paul and DJ Tom Malom – and don’t forget: this runs over two days, so you’ve plenty of time to explore.
Sat 19 & Sun 20 Aug, Spinningfields Square, Deansgate, Manchester M3 3EH. 11am-5pm, FREE, www.themakersmarket.co.uk
