Perhaps the only thing better than a craft beer is a craft beer accompanied by some serious scenery, which is the idea behind The Great Peak Weekender this July. Located in the heart of the Peak District, close to the ten-acre Thornbridge Hall (which will be open to visitors throughout the weekend), Thornbridge Brewery brings together a quality selection from American and British breweries, served with some locally sourced food and copious amounts of countryside action, with friends at Thornbridge Outdoors promising plenty of exhilarating outdoor pursuits to burn off those beer calories. Activities include Sky Ropes, Mini Adventure, Ropes Challenge and Ride & Abseil (£10 for adults, with morning and afternoon sessions available throughout the weekend on a first come first served basis). For those without some wheels, a Peakender bus service will be running to nearby Bakewell and Thornbridge’s Riverside Brewery, which is also open for tours. With the weekend free to attend, and nearby camping sites available for those who do not wish to fall too far from the tree, there’s never been a better reason to dig out the waterproof.
Fri 4, Sat 5 & Sun 6 Jul (open from midday 4 Jul), Great Longstone, Bakewell, Derbyshire, DE45 1NY, times vary, FREE, www.thornbridgebrewery.com
