Winner of the 2011 Bruntwood Prize for Playwriting, Janice Okoh’s darkly comic drama Three Birds will be debuting at the Royal Exchange’s intimate Studio theatre this month. Three Birds follows three young siblings who, after finding themselves home alone, must fend for themselves and protect the life they have made themselves, independent from the outside world and the adults that inhabit it. A startling yet funny look at childhood, family and fantasy, Okoh’s play is worth flocking to before it ups sticks to the Bush Theatre in London.
