The RNCM and the University of Manchester team up again in October for their fourth annual celebration of new talent in the North West, this year with an even bigger line up. Taking place from Saturday 26 October to Saturday 2 November, the programme includes an introduction to the composers led by David Horne plus world premieres and performances from both the RNCM alumni and more. With MediaCityUK and Chetham’s School of Music also playing host to some of this year’s events, here are our top three events to see.

Open Forum With Edwin Roxburgh

This year’s featured composer Edwin Roxburgh joins Clark Rundell at the Martin Harris Centre for an exclusive talk of his work. Born in Liverpool, Roxburgh studied at the Royal College of Music where he went on to found their Twentieth Century Ensemble. Now Associate Composer of the London Festival Orchestra and renowned for the textures and precise crafting of his compositions, the talk should be a fascinating insight into the process behind his award-winning work.
