The Title Art Prize takes everything that’s great about the North West art scene and rolls it into one, open to emerging artists working within any medium, concept or scale. Tonight, Blank Media Collective brings together the 23 hopefuls for this year’s prize whose hard work has been decorating the walls of Blankspace for the past two weeks. This free event celebrates their achievements and will culminate with the award to one lucky winner of £500 and a solo exhibition at the Hulme gallery. The winner and runners-up will be selected by a judging panel that includes Kate Farrell (The Lowry), Sarah Perks (Cornerhouse), Maurice Carlin (Islington Mill), Helen Wewiora (Arts Council England) and artist Anthony Hall. The prize show will also feature Video Jam, Manchester’s favourite experimental film night, who will provide some mind-bending short films cut with a live soundtrack. Video Jam is an ongoing series of unique experimental events that seek to explore and re-consider the relationship between the moving image and sound.
