Blanchflower bakery and restaurant kitchen is known for its exceptional sourdough, brunches, bakes and perfect coffee – and the team have just launched a takeaway and delivery service, bringing many of their favourite dishes to customers’ homes in and around Altrincham. The move comes as many of Manchester’s restaurants have pivoted to offer a deliverable service (read our guide here). Food is available on Friday and Saturday from 9am until 3pm as a ‘hatch’ service offering Blanchflower favourites to go (sourdough, coffee, breakfast sandwiches on their homemade focaccia and salad bowls for lunch (the deconstructed sushi with house cured salmon is a must). By night, it’s all change with a menu of gourmet comfort food available under the name ‘Blanchfire’ on Deliveroo. Try and choose between the 24hr marinated jerk chicken burger, buttermilk chicken sandwich or kimchi beef burger on a homemade potato bun. Other options include chargrilled harissa prawns with spiced cous cous and pickled squash, a sweetcorn fritter and smashed avocado burger on homemade focaccia and the bestselling kofte kebab. Sides are something else too: sourdough flatbreads, basil and jalapeno sauce, fermented tomato and chilli relish, lush slaw and whipped yoghurt with roast garlic all made from scratch on site. Dishes are typically between £7 and £10 and we’d appreciate it if you left some for us.
