3. £5 cocktails at Trof – pictured
Whilst most places reserve their drinks offers for slow weekdays, Trof are offering Saturday night drinkers their cocktail menu for just £5 each. With classic offerings as well as Trof specials, this is one of the cheapest places for a cocktail on a weekend in the Northern Quarter. If weekdays are more your thing, half price food on a Monday will have you sorted.

4. Oktoberfest offers at Ply
Whilst pizza is more of an Italian jam, Ply are getting into the German swing of things with a special menu for 10 days from Monday 24 September. With a Oktoberfest special pizza of bratwurst and caramelised onions, joined by a selection of German beers, the signs of European cooperation are alive and well. 5. £40 for 3 courses + unlimited wine at Wood
We mention this every month, because it’s just too good not to go on about. Masterchef winner Simon Wood’s restaurant has been making a name for itself as offering fine dining for a while now. However, if the price tag is sometimes a bit steep you can treat yourself every Wednesday to three courses and unlimited wine for £40. They expect you to be sensible, but this is an offer to put a smile on anyone on a wet September Wednesday.
