Sat 29 Aug – Claude VonStroke @ Gorilla
The Dirtybird (home to Justin Martin, Julio Bashmore & more) bossman returns to Manchester this bank holiday weekend. VonStroke has been at the top of house game for years and years now, but has always maintained a sense of fun amongst a world of chin-stroking and po-facededness. Early birds are already gone for this one, and it’s unlikely that the rest of the tickets will stick around for long. CVS will be joined on the night by Just Jorge & Lewis Smith.

Sat 29 Aug – Ill Phil @ Static
The Certified Jackin YouTube channel played a fundamental part in jackin’s rise to prominence country-wide. This bank holiday Saturday they celebrate the first part of their residency at new Manchester club Static with veteran of the scene Ill Phil. Skippy drums and big bass drops are the order of the day, and with tickets starting at six quid, this is one one of the weekend’s more fairly priced events.

Sun 30 Aug – Soul:ution @ Band On The Wall
Manchester’s best d&b night graciously moves to the Sunday of this bank holiday weekend to provide some bonus raving. Headlining is the mighty Calibre, owner of the Signature label and considered one of the most influential figures of the genre/UK dance music in general. This is a rare DJ appearance for Calibre, who prefers to spend his time honing his craft in the studio. Residents Marcus Intalex, Galvini, Bane and host MC DRS is a lineup worthy of note in their own right – plenty of bang for your buck here.
