Though as Mr T. so eloquently explained you should always ‘treat your mama right’, but that goes double for Mothering Sunday and we’ve rounded up some of our favourite events for you to take your mum out on the town for a bloody good Sunday, and in the most part get nice and ginned up.
1. Bespoke three-course menu, gift bag & more at Aiden Byrne’s restaurant MCR
Make Mother’s Day extra special this year with a bespoke three-course menu by Aiden Byrne with a glass of Crémant on arrival and all mothers will receive a complimentary gift bag from Kiehls cosmetic and skincare company.

2. Complimentary gin and tonics at Banyan in Spinningfields
Already offering their luscious ‘Bottomless Weekenders’, Banyan are kicking it up a notch by pairing endless Prosecco, beer, wine and cocktails with either Bottomless Brunch or Bottomless Roasts, plus mum’s get a Hendricks and tonic on arrival. With live music to accompany the relaxed vibes, settle in for the long haul with this Mother’s Day extravagance.

3. Make your own gin at Three Rivers distillery
If you really want to go the whole hog and really lean in to the ‘Mother’s ruin’, you’ll be hard pushed to find a better place to do it than Manchester’s own gin palace ‘Three Rivers’. Sip on G&Ts as you take a look around the Redbank distillery, learn about the history of gin and then make your own bespoke bottle of the stuff.
Sun 31 Mar, City of Manchester Distillery, 21 Red Bank Parade, Manchester, M4 4HF. Tel: 0161 839 2667. 1-4pm, £95pp, http://www.manchesterthreerivers.com/product/sunday-afternoon-gin-experience-52/
