The third ‘drop date’ of Record Store Day 2020 is just around the corner. Taking place this Saturday 24 October – there will be a bumper list of releases coming to independent record stores around the country – including brand new and exclusively repressed records. This time, we’ve put together a top 5 of cool and creepy vinyl releases to try and get your hands on just in time for Halloween…

1: Frankie & The Witch Fingers – Sidewalk LP

Originally released on cassette back in 2013, Sidewalk is the first full-length album from LA psychedelic rock band Frankie & The Witch Fingers. Remastered, re-packaged and re-imagined by Greenway Records, this limited edition release includes a “Cocaine Dream Swirl” coloured vinyl with spot UV treatment on the jacket and a full-colour inner sleeve.

2: The Fleshtones – Face Of The Screaming Werewolf LP

3: Ryuichi Sakamoto – Black Mirror: Smithereens (Original Soundtrack) LP

An exclusive for Record Store Day 2020, this vinyl features tracks from the acclaimed composer Ryuichi Sakamoto (The Revenant, The Last Emperor) who you may have heard in Smithereens – episode 2, series 5 of the anthology series Black Mirror. This release features one LP on coloured vinyl with a deluxe PVC sleeve. The cover art is an original design from Sakamoto’s long-time collaborator, Alva Noto.

4: Tres Vampires – Tres Vampires 12” Vinyl

Tres Vampires are David J (Bauhaus, Love & Rockets) and Johnette Napolitano (Concrete Blonde). This self-titled release is a trio of “darkly romantic, timeless, otherworldly passion ballads the likes of which are only heard every 1000 years, or when the vampires rise,” – say the band. This 12” limited edition blood red vinyl comes with a download card included.

5: The Virgin Suicides – Music From The Motion Picture LP

Celebrating 20 years since Sofia Coppola’s directorial debut, The Virgin Suicides (Music From The Motion Picture) will be released on vinyl for the first time since its original release back in 2000. The haunting soundtrack features music from Steely Dan, The Hollies, Boston, Al Green, 10CC, Styx, and two tracks from Air, including one composed exclusively for the film.
