Stoke-on-Trent, the hub of the UK ceramics industry, plays host to The British Ceramics Biennial which showcases and celebrates contemporary ceramics from all corners of the world. Free exhibitions and events will be spread across the city and don’t worry, you’ll have over a month to catch something. The itinerary is diverse though highlights include a celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Indian Independence, which sees an exhibition of 30 Warli paintings, ceramic materials, soundscapes and sculptures. Visitor participation is encouraged in leading ceramic artist Keith Harrison’s new work, which involves making clay books that represent those from the 6 Towns Collection. If you’re more outdoorsy then Forest of Dreams is offering an evening of dinner and theatre in the idyllic setting of China Hall. See the full progamme on the website now.
