This week new Stevenson Square pizza joint and bar PLY welcomes its first exhibition since doors opened – and the first solo Manchester show from internationally renowned illustrator Will Broome. The British illustrator and former Central St Martin’s graduate has previously collaborated with heavyweight names including Marc Jacobs, Gucci and Hugo Boss, and his illustrations have also featured on catwalks in campaigns for Topshop, Harvey Nichols and Wedgewood. He first teamed up with PLY last year, when his work featured in the bar’s preview exhibition, #PLYin90seconds, and now he returns with ‘Will Broome: A Retrospective’, showcasing 20 of Will’s large scale paper stencil works and illustrations – think playful, wide-eyed owls, colourful pandas and bears that seem to be tripping total balls. The exhibition launches on Wed 6 May, where bespoke Broometown Swizzle cocktails will also be on offer.

Thu 7 May – Sat 6 Jun (launch night Wed 6 May, 6 – 8pm), PLY, 26 Lever Street, M1 1DW, Usual opening hours, FREE, www.plymcr.co.uk
