Tusk presents DIGITS at 2022NQ

Increasingly sturdy promoters Tusk present Canadian melantronic fella DIGITS, aka. Alt Altman, with support and late-night laps from DJs John Thorp of roving clubnight Work Them, Scott Beaman of the Deaf Institute’s weekly Shapes, and Tusk themselves. Altman’s unhurried, dusky digipop – as heard on this year’s mixtape Death and Desire and the Where Do You Belong? EP – pitches itself somewhere between the slow sweat of Kindness and the spare synths of Chromatics – occasionally recalling Twin Shadow at his most fey – and feels an appropriate match for these endless overcast, humid Manchester evenings; as the night wears on, Work Them and Tusk’s stash of disco, house and miscellany should shift things up a gear.
