A special screening of 80s hip hop film Wild Style will mark the debut of new music-based film night Twisted Reel in October. Acknowledged as the first hip hop movie, the Charlie Ahearn production is being brought to the Castle’s (fairly) big screen to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the film’s release. Starring hip hop legends such as Fab Five Freddy, Lee Quinones, Lady Pink and Grandmaster Flash, it’s set to once again be a hit to music lovers of all ages. DJ Rich Coyle, meanwhile, will be ‘spinning the wheels of steel’ before and after the screening. Over the next few months Twisted Reel will host a variety of music-themed films, ranging from well-known classics to those from the independent circuit, with a DJ playing tunes in keeping with the night’s film to keep the party going. Follow Twisted Reel on Twitter and like their page on Facebook for future updates.
