A new trend in brewing has emerged over the last few years, with British beer-makers using American hops and techniques to brew American like beers. Once upon a time this would have been laughed out of the CAMRA books – but now American craft beers are being celebrated all over the country. To further the cause, The Beagle will be holding a tap takeover of American beers for a fortnight. The Chorlton ale house will be welcoming beers from across the Atlantic, both those well known on these shores such as Brooklyn, Sierra Nevada and Flying Dog, and rarer brewers such as Maui from Hawaii, Californian brewery Anderson Valley and Colorado’s Ska Brewery. As well as two weeks of American ales, food will be supplied by Salt and Fire BBQ, and there will be free musical event on Saturday 29 June featuring Nick Ainsworth of Former Bullies and Manchester electric blues duo Walk, as well as White Pepper and Goff from Wowie Zowie DJing throughout. All the fun of drinking in America without all the Americans getting in the way. And you don’t have to be over 21.
