Jeremy Deller will be launching his new exhibition All That Is Solid Melts Into Air at Manchester Art Gallery this October – named as such due to it being the translation of the German phrase used by Karl Marx and Frederich Engels in the Communist Manifesto, ‘Alles Ständische und Stehende verdampft’. To celebrate its launch and as part of the Manchester Weekender programme, 2022NQ is hosting a big fat party going by the name of Verdampft, which by itself translates as something like ‘melts into air’. Once you’ve got to grips with the fiddly German terminology behind the evening, get limbered up, put on those designated dancing shoes and prepare yourself for a night of musical treats, with Everything Everything (pictured) popping down for a DJ set after their show at The Ritz and DJs Dave Haslam and Will Tramp also spinning the decks. As if that’s not enough, there will even be surprise live guests making an appearance on the night.
