On Sat 26 Oct, the historic Victoria Baths transforms into a haunted hall of time travelling tunes as one of Manchester’s best-loved heritage venues resurrects three legendary nightclubs for a night of rotten raves and devilish dance classics.

Running from 7pm – 11.30pm, The Silence of the Baths: Back from the Dead summons the former swimming complex’s dark side with a monstrous Halloween makeover featuring towering spectres, 100 skeletons and a colony of hanging bats fill the labyrinth of unique spaces inside the Grade II* listed building.

Guests are encouraged to don their most ghoulish glad-rags and step back in time for a deathly silent disco, conducted from above by a trio of DJs each manifesting the spirit of an iconic Manchester hotspot.

Leading the sinister ceremony, local music legend Clint Boon revives the soul of South (1995-2023), while Mikee Diablo conjures the Bacchanalian realms of Jilly’s Rockworld (1983-2010) with a selection of floor-fillers spanning punk, rock, metal and indie.

On a third channel, Max Oblivion exhumes the reanimated remains of The Tiger Lounge (1997-2017), the kaleidoscopic den of kitsch which held its spell over a devoted cult following of music-lovers for twenty years across various locations around the city.

Throughout the night, Victoria Baths’ potion-stocked bar will be brewing an assortment of enchanting elixirs, spooky spirits and blood-curdling beers, as well as a selection of murderous mocktails.

Fancy dress is strongly encouraged, and prizes are available for the best costumes.

Earlier in the day, families with chill-seeking children of all ages can join the fun with the Mini Monster Mash from 11am to 2pm. Priced at just £4 per person, the daytime party features a silent disco music channel for kids and grown-ups, creepy crafts, ghastly games and a swam of Halloween decorations. Book your tickets here.
