Future Artists Studios in Salford is hosting a new exhibition which celebrates the history of video gaming. Ready Player One (not to be confused with the novel of the same name) lets visitors experience the games the best possible way: by playing them. It takes the form of a retro pop-up arcade featuring many classic titles. You’ll find early hits such as Pac Man and Space Invaders, through to later favourites like Streetfighter. All the machines will be free to play – no coins required. Add to that some vintage home consoles, and there will be a total of 50 classic releases to enjoy. There’s also pinball machines if you’re a Luddite. Spaces are limited, and the earlier sessions are already selling out, so act fast if you want a be sure of getting a place. You can book via the link below. Future Artists Studios is just five minutes’ walk from Deansgate and Victoria Station.
