Manchester Modernist society is a running a walking tour through Manchester exploring the city’s Modernist roots, in conjunction with Design Manchester and MMU Special Collection’s new Modernist exhibition – An education in concrete: The built works of Gordon Hodkinson. The talk and walk will be led by the highly acclaimed Dr Richard Brook, who helped to curate the exhibition, and will look at the buildings Gordon had input into the design and construction of. Most appropriately, the talk’s final destination will end at Special Collections to view the exhibition and gain insight into design, detail and cultural practices of time.
