Back in early January – before talk of pandemics, lock downs and self isolation dominated conversation – The Stoller Hall welcomed Scottish percussionist Colin Currie for an evening of music alongside the Northern Chamber Orchestra. Cut to four weeks later and a lot has changed to say the least – however in an attempt to keep music-lovers smiling during these uncertain times, this colourful performance will be screened online for free on Saturday 16 May at 7.30pm. Available on the Northern Chamber Orchestra’s official YouTube and Facebook pages for 24 hours only, this online event allows audiences to relive Currie’s Stoller Hall show and enjoy his take on works by contemporary Viennese composer Kurt Schwertsik, a collaboration with NCO’s principal clarinet expert Elizabeth Jordan on Stephen Barlow’s Nocturne and renditions of Dvořák’s Serenade for Strings, in five movement among other amazing tracks.
