Renowned theatre company Ilotopie brings Water Fools, its spectacular water-based performance, to The Quays in July for one night only. Having already charmed audiences worldwide, the performance follows the story of man whose humdrum life is transformed into a series of dream-like sequences after his head spontaneously bursts into flames. With all happenings taking place on the water’s surface, mundane reality meets imaginary worlds as everyday objects are turned into mythical creatures and playful characters parade around on floating island and giant paddle wheels, all illuminated by fireworks and breath-taking pyrotechnics (see a preview here). Taking place as the first events in a series leading up the launch of Quays Festival in 2015, it looks to be quite the spectacle.
