The International Anthony Burgess Foundation (pictured) is a highly under-rated venue. It may be hidden away in a mill near Hulme, but its calendar is always full of interesting events. As you might expect with somewhere named after a renowned literary figure, these events are often on the highbrow side of things – including this Saturday’s We4Poets Live. We4Poets is a group of literary aficionados headed by novelists Stanley Ayodeji and David Llewellyn. The evening event will feature not only poetry, but also music and comic tales. Readings will come from published writers Kat Kehoe and Tricia Ashworth, and from rising stars Justine Chamberlain and Michael Kyriacou, while musical guests include singer-songwriter Tez Skachill, frontman of the local rock outfit Grim Architect.
Sat 22 Nov, International Anthony Burgess Foundation, Engine House, Chorlton Mill, 3 Cambridge Street, M1 5BY, 6.30pm – 9.30pm, £3 adv, £4 OTD, we4poets.com
