After a two-year hibernation from Manchester’s shores, Wild Beasts have re-emerged for a show at the Academy. Their time away has seen a shift in focus to sleazy electro-pop, as evidenced by the synth-heavy new single, Get My Bang, and its branding borrowed from 1980s Miami Vice and its successors. But the trademark falsettos remain and as firm favourites of the Domino imprint, tickets for this tour won’t hang around for too long, particularly with the new album, Boy King, which is released on 4 August.
