Ever wonder how Manchester became the hotspot it is today? The North West Film Archive and the Manchester Modernist Society team up this month to present a lecture and films  documenting how post-war optimism influenced the region’s transport systems and development. Led by Manchester School of Architecture’s Richard Brook, the event will showcase three short films exposing how the 20th Century transformed the North West landscape, taking in topics as diverse as The Mancunian Way and the unrealised dream of the Piccadilly-Victoria underground – plus a Q&A session and short talk by Brooks. A chance to find out about the city’s architectural achievements and what could have been.
