Presented by The Sexuality Summer School, a public arts events programme open to all, is queer Zimbabwean-born, Manchester-based practitioner mandla rae’s performance lecture: The Desire for Identity.

Taking place on Tue 24 May (6pm-8pm) and free to attend, the unique event details the story of being a ‘category mistake’, something mandla rae dubs as an identity that society does not want to admit exists, this performance lecture is sure to be as fascinating as it is eye-opening.

With an emphasis on the concept of identity, mandla rae uses the notion to explore possibilities of resistance through embodied movement, gesture, and spoken word.
