Crafting music that lies somewhere in the regions between disco, deep-house and funk, Ukrainian DJ and producer Vakula makes his Manchester debut at meandyou next month. The residents alone (Joy Orbison, Juniper and Andrew Lyster) justify a trip to the Soup Kitchen basement but as ever, the meandyou team direct attentions solely to the headliner and with good reason: Vakula being one of the most consistently brilliant proponents of the wider house music sound in recent years. Vakula was supposed to play Bohemian Grove a while back but had to pull out – making this a truly special occasion for Manchester fans. Listen to Vakula’s Flying Ass of Funk.
