Silent star, Louise Brooks, stars as the temptress Pandora in GW Pabst’s 1929 classic but rarely shown film, Pandora’s Box. She plays a femme fatale in what begins as a simple love triangle but soon degenerates into multiple murder and tragedy (as all good melodramas should). The film has been rescored by contemporary classical composers Jóhann Jóhannsson and Hildur Guðnadóttir (Mum, Animal Collective) in this new project with Opera North. The pair will also be joined by clarinettist Dov Goldberg and turntable artist Phillip Jeck for a live re-imagining of the score, accompanying the film.
