Sightseers is a new feature-length film from up-and-coming director Ben Wheatley, accompanied by a Q&A session with Wheatley plus co-star/writer Steve Oram. Written by actors Oram (playing Chris, whose career spans a whole host of televisual credits, as well as having written/directed numerous short films and an illustrious career in stand-up comedy) and Alice Lowe (as Tina, star of surreal comedy over the last 10 years, from Channel 4’s Garth Marengi’s Darkplace to, most recently, Sky Atlantic’s This Is Jinsy) tells the story of loved-up couple, who embark on their first holiday together in a beat-up caravan before things move into Shallow Grave territory. A Director’s Fortnight selection at Cannes, Sightseers will not go on general release until the end of November.
