Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry’s two night residency at Band on the Wall last year looked very much like it could be his last – so we’re delighted that the original ‘Upsetter’ is making a return visit. One of the core pioneers of dub reggae, specifically as a producer, and arguably the inventor of scratch turntablism, Perry’s style of music production has gone on to influence music far beyond reggae – from hip hop through to punk, pop and dub techno. Last year’s shows were among our gigs of the year. He won’t disappoint.
