Manchester-based drag party-performance-music collective Tranarchy are throwing a party to celebrate “pope of trash”, John Waters.  The Baltimore legend is perhaps best known for directing 1988 cult classic, Hairspray, though Tranarchy aren’t ones to choose favourites.  They’re transforming Salford’s Islington Mill into a giant, glittery sleepover party, screening all 12 of Waters’ feature films back-to-back in an evening of suitable debauchery. Prizes are promised for those who survive the full 24-hours (full-face of make-up intact). Films include Mondo Trasho, Multiple Maniacs, Pink Flamingos, Female Trouble, Desperate Living, Polyester, Hairspray, Cry Baby, Pecker, Serial Mom, Cecil B. Demented and A Dirty Shame.

Sat 8-Sun 9 Dec, Islington Mill, James Street, Salford, M3 5HW, 6pm, £10 for both days, £5 from 11am on Sunday, www.wegottickets.com
