There’s something agonising about your favourite band taking their best album on the road for the dollar. Maybe they all look like dudes now, or, worse still, they’re just totally crap. Given the band’s varying form over the years, The Breeders just-announced tour of one of the alt-rock albums of the 1990s, Last Splash – featuring Cannonball, Divine Hammer, I Just Wanna Get Along and pretty much every heart-burstingly brilliant record former Pixie Kim Deal and her rag tag gaggle ever wrote – could go either way. But here’s hoping it’s towards heaven. Tickets on sale Wednesday (6 Feb) from 10am.
