Beloved veggie and vegan junk flood pioneers, Wholesome Junkies, has announced a new permanent spot just on the outskirts of the city centre.

The brand rose to prominence after appearing on BBC2’s Million Pound Menu back in 2018, and has proved a consistent hit in Manchester during pop-up stints at the likes of GRUB and Ancoats General Store, and most recently has operated out of the Arndale Market.

Now though, Wholesome Junkies will open a much more permanent spot, nestled in the railway archways along Mirabel Street on Red Bank. The area has become something of a food and drink hotspot in recent years, boasting the likes of Sparrows, GRUB, Beatnikz and exclusive sushi members club, Umezushi, which will be moving up the road to make room for Wholesome Junkies’ new spot.

Taking to Instagram to announce the opening, the team also shared news of an imminent Kickstarter to help make the dream a reality.

“After years of heartbreak searching for the perfect space, we’ve finally got our own place to call home.” They wrote.

“We will be launching a Kickstarter in the next few weeks to help us complete the restaurant and we will need all the help we can get.”

No concrete opening dates have been set, but keep an eye Insta for updates.
