Acclaimed South Korean choreographer Eun-Me Ahn brings her stunning new production, Dragons, to The Lowry later this month.
The latest kaleidoscopic show features holograms of five young guest performers from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, Indonesia and Taiwain, all born in the year 2000, sharing their hopes and fresh perspectives on how past and future can coexist.
Eun-Me Ahn and her company of seven South Korean performers interact with these holograms in a ‘joyful riot of dance, music and non-stop movement’, set to a backdrop of stunning colourful projections of forests and clouded skies, and a soundtrack comprised of contemporary pop and electronic music with a traditional score.
Eun-Me Ahn is one of the most revered artists in South Korea. Since being founded in 1988, her dance company has performed at 11 major international festivals, including the 2002 FIFA World Cup.
