The Whitworth has unveiled a new landmark exhibition which features works by more than 90 women artists and collectives.
Women in Revolt! Art and Activism in the UK 1970-1990 celebrates works and ideas that were forged against the backdrop of seismic social, political and economic change during the 1970s and 1980s.
Organised by Tate Britain in collaboration with the Whitworth, The University of Manchester and National Galleries of Scotland, this marks Women in Revolt!’s first ever free entry presentation.
